Why gross revenue misleads you

Placed isn't paid

Shopify counts an order as revenue the second checkout completes. COD cancellations, RTOs, and returns haven't happened yet. For a mostly-COD brand, that gap between "placed" and "paid" can be the difference between a healthy month and a losing one — and it's invisible until reconciliation happens.
